This 2 meter version of Walter Extra's latest masterpiece provides all of the amazing aerobatic capabilities of its larger siblings in an affordable and easy to transport package. When powered by the Xpwr 40 on 12S LiPo batteries or a quality 35-38cc gas engine, the 78" NG is capable of unlimited aerobatic performance, excelling in both precision aerobatics and 3D maneuvers. The 78" NG has the latest CNC aluminum wing and canopy latches to this iconic design, for the easiest, quickest setup at the field. Carbon wing tube, carbon stab tube, competition-grade hardware kit with Du-Bro ball links, carbon landing gear, carbon tail wheel, ultracote covering, foil wing bags, and pre-hinged and gap-sealed control surfaces are all included.
We recommend the XPWR40CC motor for the NG. This gives a great combination of 3D float and big power. Use a 22x10 electric prop and 12S 3700-4400mah lipo. For this setup we recommend the Castle Creations HCV120 ESC with firmware v4.22 ONLY. We provided test motors to Castle during the creation of this firmware version and it is best matched to our XPWR motors.
For gas power, the Extra NG is perfect with either the DA35 or the GP38 and 20x8 or 20x9 prop. Some of our customers have also used the Stinger 40CC twin, which fits inside the cowl with its angle-plug design.
The Edge uses QTY 5 full-size digital servos, we recommend SAVOX 1270 or 1280 units. For gas power add a throttle servo. For more detailed equipment recommendations, see the spec sheet below.
